Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town

Situated amidst majestic mountains and lined with pristine white sand beaches, Cape Town is home to a rich cultural and historical heritage with vibrant restaurants and remarkable sightseeing activities. After your airport greeting, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 2: Cape Town

Your full-day tour starts with a cable car journey up the famous Table Mountain, which offers magnificent views from its summit. After your visit to the top, you will head off on a scenic drive through the wine regions outside Cape Town – Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. Enjoy lunch with drinks at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel. (B,L)

Day 3: Cape Town

After breakfast at your hotel, you will journey by motor coach along the Atlantic Seaboard, past the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay and through Chapman’s Peak, one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world. You’ll also see the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and majestic Cape Point, where you will venture to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to Boulders Beach for an exciting close-up encounter with African penguins. (B,L)

Day 4: Cape Town – Zambezi Queen (Embarkation Day)

After breakfast, fly to Kasane, Botswana and board the Zambezi Queen. This afternoon, enjoy the view as you settle in on the Chobe River before a Welcome Cocktail and Dinner on board the vessel. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Zambezi Queen

This morning embark on a boat safari to explore the Chobe River’s spectacular game viewing. Journey back to the Zambezi Queen for lunch as well as time to relax on board and take in the scenery surrounding you at every turn. After lunch, enjoy an unforgettable visit to Kasenu village to experience the local culture first-hand. This evening you’ll head ashore for an African Boma Dinner, which features various flavorful local specialties. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Zambezi Queen

Today, take a safari game-drive adventure into the Chobe National Park, home to one of the densest populations of wildlife in Africa. Experience your first game drive by vehicle as you set off in search for an array of different animals in Botswana’s most famous National Park. In the afternoon, join a safari by boat as you explore the banks of Chobe National Park, or go an expedition to catch the ferocious tigerfish. Unwind on board later with High Tea and a delicious dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Zambezi Queen

This morning enjoy an exciting private boat safari as well as a bird watching excursion to introduce you to then area’s local birdlife. Later you will also enjoy a slightly different version of a river safari aboard a special river barge which will allow you to venture into the southern channels. This excursion will offer you a new viewpoint to observe hippos and elephants in their natural habitat. Tonight, your Cruise Manager will host your Farewell Dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Zambezi Queen (Disembarkation Day) - Victoria Falls

This morning, transfer to the legendary Victoria Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders on earth. Settle into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the city or experiencing one of the many activities offered at your hotel. (B)

Day 9: Victoria Falls

A local guide and your Cruise Manager will take you on a tour of the remarkable Victoria Falls today. You’ll learn about its history and the flora and fauna that make this area so unique. Tonight, embark on a private and festive Sundowner Cruise along the Zambezi River. Relax on board as you observe a variety of game and enjoy a delicious mix of tapas with drinks and music. (B,D)

Day 10: Victoria Falls – Rovos Rail

Today you will depart Victoria Falls on the luxurious Rovos Rail train. You will enjoy breakfast at your hotel as well as the early afternoon at leisure before being escorted just minutes away to the Victoria Falls Station. You will join your fellow travelers in the midway Lounge Car or Observation Car this afternoon. Relax and enjoy the rich African scenery as you pass into the Hwange Game Reserve. Dinner is served in the dining cars tonight en route to Kennedy Siding for your overnight stop. (B,D)

Day 11: Rovos Rail

Enjoy breakfast in the dining car with the other guests as your second day onboard this luxurious train begins. Today is an early wake up in order to disembark for your safari in the Hwange Game Reserve. After returning to the train, you will enjoy brunch as you journey towards Botswana in the afternoon. Take in the African landscape from the Lounge or Obversation Car, or even your own Deluxe Suite. Delectable dinner selections are served on board for you to savor (B,L,D)

Day 12: Rovos Rail

Today you will enjoy breakfast en route to the border via Botswana’s capital city, Gaborone. Shortly after you will be entering South Africa, your third and final country during this voyage. Lunch will be served in the dining car as the train travels through the farmlands of the Marico Valley. Savor your last afternoon on the train as you prepare for your final dinner onboard. Dinner will take place as the train traverses the Magaliesberg Range. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Rovos Rail - Johannesburg

This morning your train journey comes to a close, but not before you enjoy one last breakfast on board and a final scenic voyage. After your late morning arrival in Pretoria, South Africa you will be transferred to the airport in Johannesburg, about an hour away, for you onward flight home. (B)
