DAY 4: Caudebec-en-Caux-Honfleur
Last
port of call in Honfleur. This magnificent city is situated at the mouth of the Seine
river, at the point where it spills out into the English Channel.
When you disembark after breakfast, you will smell the refreshing
sea air. You will enjoy an optional
sightseeing tour through the old port which has scarcely changed
since the 17th century. At that time, quay-side
dwellings were in extremely high demand and only narrow parcels of
land were sold off. That’s why houses as high as seven stories
where built. Beyond the buildings of the port, the church of Sainte-Catherine,
built in the 15th century, rises majestically like a
royal vessel. Return on board for lunch. In the afternoon, optional
coach tour to the seaside resort of Deauville situated
on the “Côte Fleurie”.
During the second part of the 19th century, it used to
be the prime venue for wealthy Parisians, film stars and European
aristocrats. Among the top attractions of this seaside resort are
the beach-side hotels, the casino, the yacht port and the
racetrack. You will have time to take a short stroll in this town.
Return on board for dinner. Let’s enjoy a free evening to stroll
through this town by night. Take a seat in one of the many
sidewalk cafés and watch the world go by. Put in for the night.
DAY 5 : Honfleur
After
breakfast, last glance at our floating hotel and disembarkation. End
of our services.
