Itinerary
Day 1 - KOLN - KOENIGSWINTER
Embarkation in Koln at about 1:00pm. Lunch on board. Time to settle into your cabin. 2 hours free, time to visit the Old Town as wel as the Cathedral accompanied by our hostess. Capital of the Rhineland, Koln's old town fits snugly between the Rhine and the Ring. A particularly lively city, it has numerous pedestrian streets and parks. It is from the right bank that we have the best view of the old town dominated by the Cathedral speyers. Back on board for 3:00pm departure to cruise towards Koenigswinter. Presentation of the Crew and welcome drink. We will arrive in Koenigswinter in the evening. Dinner and evening entertainments on board.
Day 2 - Konigswinter - Koblenz
Departure of the boat early in the morning. Breakfast and lunch as we cruise. Arrival in Koblenz at about 2:00 pm, time to discover the Old Town accompanied by our hostess. Th charming Old town grouped around St Castor's church (9th -12th centuries) and the church of Our Lady (Liebfrauenkirche), from the 12th to the 15th century, has been very well restored over the last few years. It provides the setting for a pleasant stroll, from the old Castle on the banks of the Mosel to the Prince Electors' palace on the Rhine. Back on board for dinner. Free evening and overnight stop.
Day - KOBLENZ - RUDESHEIM
We will leave Koblenz at about 8:00am. Breakfast and lunch as we cruise. We will be sailing up the most beautiful part of the Romantic Rhine between Koblenz and Rudesheim and assing numerous castles situated in famous vineyards, as well as the legendary Loreley Rock. We will reach Rudesheim at about 5:00 pm. Free time or optional excursion, during which you will discover the vineards by miniature train, taste the renowned wine of the region and finally visit the famous music museum, the only one of its kind. Dinner on board. Free evening in the Drosselgasse know for its atmosphere, its open-air bars and its bands. Back on board at your leisure.
Day 4 - RUDESHEIM, MANNHEIM OR SPEYER
Departure of the boat early in the morning, breakfast as we cruise. We will sail back up the Rhine to Speyer, with its fine examples of Romanesqaue architecture. Lunch on board. We will pass through the towns of Weisbaden, Nierstein, Worms and Mannheim. Otional visit of Heidelberg and its castle. The symbol of German Romanticism, it woes its reputation to the incomparable situation in the Neckar valley, nestling between the forest-covered slopes and dominated by the majestic ruins of its castle. Stopover in Mannheim, Speyer or Karlsruhe. Back on board at about 6:00pm. Dinner and gala evening.
Day 5 - SPEYER OR MANNHEIM, STRASBOURG
Early in the morning departure of the boat for Strasbourg. Breakfast as we cruise. We will pass through Lauterbourg as well as the two largest Rhine locks: Iffezheim and Gambsheim. Lunch on Board. Arrival in Strasbourg between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. End of cruise.
