DAY 1 : LYON – TAIN L’HERMITAGE

Les Cotes du Rhone

Embarkation at about 3:00 PM in Lyon at the Quay Claude Bernard. Settling into the cabins. Introduction of the crew over a welcome drink. Dinner aboard. The vessel will be heading for Macon after embarkation.

Breakfast aboard. The day will start with an optional excursion in Lyon, the second largest town in France, after Paris. Lyon is situated between the Rhone and the Saône Rivers. Lunch aboard. We will be heading south for Tain l’Hermitage, where we will arrive in the evening and put in for the night. Rhone River Cruise, European River Cruise

 DAY 2: TAIN L’HERMITAGE  - AVIGNON

The vessel will leave early in the morning. Breakfast aboard. We will pass nearby to Valence, Montelimar and Viviers. The vessel will be heading next for Avignon, the city of the popes. We will arrive in the early afternoon.  There is an optional guided tour of the city and the papal palace. The rest of the afternoon is free. Return to the ship where you will enjoy our gala dinner. The ship will depart for Arles where we will arrive about 10:00 PM.  We will overnight in Arles.

 DAY 3 :  ARLES - LA CAMARGUE - MARTIGUES  

Breakfast aboard. At 8:00 AM there is an ooptional guided tour into the Camargue, a unique coastal plain inhabited by a vast array of  wildlife and extraordinary birds. Here there is a beautiful breed of wild horses. You will have some free time to visit the village of  Saintes Maries de la Mer. . Later this afternoon you will reboard the ship in Port Lous. We will continue our cruise to Martigues. We'll have lunch and disembark at about 3:00 PM.

For those who wish, a coach transfer is provided back to Lyon.
