DAY 1 : LYON
Embarkation at 4:00 PM in Lyon. Departure of the boat at 5:00 PM sailing southwards. Settling in your cabin. In the evening, the crew will be introduced to you during a cocktail reception. Dinner and evening with entertainment. Overnight on board.
DAY 2 : AVIGNON-ARLES
Breakfast on board. We will sail along the beautiful landscapes of the south of France passing near Valence, which is dominated by Saint-Apollinaire’s Cathedral, Montélimar, well-known for its “nougat” (candies), and pass through the big lock of Bollène, which was one of the main structures of the 1950’s. Lunch on board. Arrival in Avignon is followed by an optional coach tour of the Camargue, a sprawling marshland inhabited by extraordinary wildlife, especially water birds. The tour provides free time to visit the wonderful city of Saintes-Maries de la Mer, famous for its gypsy pilgrimages. Return on board in Arles around 7:00 PM. After dinner, optional guided tour of the city. Arles has kept a monumental heritage which makes it a major tourist and cultural site. Overnight on board. We put in for the night. DAY 3 : AVIGNON-VIVIERS
Breakfast on board. Departure of the boat in the early morning. Arrival at 9:00 AM in Avignon. Optional guided tour of the “Cité des Papes”, a citadel atop a rocky peak, surrounded by ramparts. This palace once hosted a rich court of artists and intellectuals. At the foot of the palace, you can admire the Saint-Bézenet Bridge, better known as the “Pont d’Avignon”. Return on board. Departure of the boat at 12:00 Noon to Viviers. Lunch on board. Let’s take advantage of the afternoon’s sailing to rest and listen to the cicadas on the sun deck. Arrival around 7:00 PM in Viviers. After dinner, optional guided walking tour to discover this Episcopal town which has been famous since the 5th century. In its cathedral, you will be able to admire the Gobelins tapestries. DAY 4 : VIVIERS -TAIN L’HERMITAGE - LES COTES DU Rhône Rhon Breakfast on board. Departure of the boat around 8:00 AM. Departure on an optional coach tour to visit the Gorges de l’Ardèche, Bourg-Saint-Andéol, crossing the Gras Plateau to reach Vallon Pont d’Arc. The Ardèche River has carved out this cliff, forming a grandiose natural arch over a hundred feet high called the “Pont d’Arc”. Along the way, we will discover the Belvédères du Colombier and the Ranc pointu. Located on a high cliff, they offer a striking view of the gorges. Return on board at Le Pouzin around 12:00 Noon and lunch aboard, as we sail north to Tain l’Hermitage. Arrival around 4:00 PM. Free time to discover the city, well-known for its Côtes du Rhône and its Hermitage wines. Return on board. Farewell dinner and put in for the night.
DAY 5 : TAIN L’HERMITAGE-VIENNE-LYON
Departure of the boat early in the morning to Vienne. Stop in Vienne where you can join the optional guided tour of this ancient Roman town. Return on board and return to cruise on to Lyon. Disembarkation at around 2:00 PM at the Quai Claude Bernard. End of our services. Rho
