DAY 1: Budapest
Embarkation on the ship in
Budapest is set for between 5:00-6:00 PM. Time is allowed for
cruise passengers to settle into their cabins before the
introduction of the crew. That is followed by a cocktail reception
& dinner on board. This evening is free, or there is an
optional traditional dance evening offered in Budapest. Overnight
in Budapest.
DAY 2: Budapest - Vienna
Breakfast is on board the
ship with departure from Budapest scheduled at 8:00 AM sailing
west on the Danube River. An optional city tour of Budapest is
offered with interested participants returning to the ship in
Esztergom afterwards. The ship arrives there at 1:00 PM which is
just in time for lunch on board. The rest of the day is free to
visit Esztergom which was the original capital of Hungary. The
city boasts a neoclassical basilica & the old royal palace.
Esztergom is still quite prominent, as the seat of the Archbishop
of Hungary is still located there. Return on
board the ship for dinner on board with the ship departing
at 7:00 PM for an overnight sailing west to Vienna.
DAY 3: Vienna
Breakfast & lunch are
on board the ship. Arrival in Vienna is scheduled for 1:00 PM. An
optional tour to the Viennese forest is offered for those who are
interested, or there is plenty of time for individual sightseeing
in this magnificent city. Dinner is on board the ship & there
is an optional visit to Vienna at night following dinner.
Overnight in Vienna.
DAY 4: Vienna - Melk
Breakfast is on board the
ship. The morning is free for individual sightseeing or last
minute shopping. There is also an optional tour of the city
offered. Vienna is centered around the Cathedral, the Opera House
and the Schonbrunn Castle, the latter being the summer residence
of the imperial family - Franz Joseph & Sissi. Return on board
for lunch. The afternoon is free in Vienna. Dinner is on board the
ship which departs Vienna at 12:00 Midnight for an overnight
sailing.
DAY 5: Melk - Passau
Breakfast is on board the
ship with arrival in Melk at 10:00 AM. An optional tour by
motorcoach is offered to Durnstein. This medieval Danube River
town is the most famous town in the Wachau region of Austria with
its beautiful baroque-style church.
Return to the ship in time for lunch on board. Lunch is
followed by an optional tour of the Melk Abbey. Set atop a hill
overlooking the Danube River, the Melk Abbey is a symbol of
baroque art in Austria. Return on board the ship which departs at
4:00 PM for an
overnight sailing. That evening is the Captain's Dinner on board.

Arrive
in Passau with an 8:00 AM. Disembarkation scheduled after
