France offers tremendous choices for cruising its beautiful rivers and canals.

Rhone River Cruises

The Rhone River flows through some of France's most historic cities.

Starting in the in the mountains of  Switzerland it flows to the Mediterranean. Along its shores are some of France's best known wine regions.  The Papal Palace in Avignon, vineyards of the Côte du Rhône and the history of Arles all await you.

It winds through Lyon, noted for its amazing restaurants and  silk works.

Then it travels through the heart of  Provence with its excellent cuisine, ancient towns, fields of lavender and landscapes of Van Gogh.

Just before reaching the coast, It passes through the wild nature of the Camargue, one of the largest natural areas in Europe with wild horses and raw natural beauty.

Take a Rhône River Cruise. What a journey!

Seine River Cruises

The Seine, at 485 miles long, is France's second longest river. The Seine rises in the French région of Burgundy, in the département of Côte-d'Or, 30 km (18 miles) northwest of Dijon.

In Paris, narrowed between high stone embankments, the river offers fine views of  the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay (housing Paris' collection of Impressionist art), the Conciergerie and the Eiffel Tower. The northern side of the river is described as the Right Bank (Rive Droite) and the southern side as the Left Bank (Rive Gauche), because when facing the same direction that the river flows, these are the directions to the left and right.

The river then meanders in large loops through Normandy and Rouen, entering the English Channel (La Manche) in an estuary between Le Havre and Honfleur.Click on our Seine River Cruises link below to see the exciting programs available on the Seine River.

Besides wine, the region is rich with interesting sites and history dating back to the third century when Bordeaux was a prosperous Gallo-Roman city, making it as one of France's most exciting destinations. Renaissance mansions, art museums, cathedrals, 14th century castles, medieval fortresses, Grand Théâtre, châteaux, prehistoric caves, villages and rolling river valleys and many more await you as you visit this picturesque region.
