Itinerary Vienna - Nuremberg
DAY 1
Embarkation on to the Amadeus Princess in Vienna from 4 p.m. When you have found your way round your floating hotel our cruise managers invite you to take a welcome cocktail in the Panorama bar before our special welcome dinner. After dinner you can listen to a Christmas concert in the Panorama bar. At 11.00 p.m. the ship casts off upstream in the direction of the Wachau.
DAY 2 In the morning the Amadeus Princess reaches Dürnstein, the world famous little town in the Wachau, where you have an opportunity to join the “Beauties of the Wachau” excursion. You visit Dürnstein in the course of a tour of the town on foot, and admire the blue facade of its Baroque collegiate church. Then it’s on to Melk, the magnificent Benedictine abbey, which is one of the largest monasteries in Europe. You then return to Weißenkirchen, where a Glühwein party awaits you in the well known Teisenhofer Hof inn.
After an excellent Christmas dinner you may attend Christmas mass in Dürnstein’s collegiate church. In the meantime the ship continues to Melk/Emmersdorf where the passengers re-embark.
DAY 3
Enjoy the first of the Christmas public holidays on board the Amadeus Princess. At around 3.30 p.m. in the afternoon you reach the well known
Bavarian city of Passau that lies at the confluence of three rivers (the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz). You may join the Passau city walk to get to know the sights of the charming miniature city. The Amadeus Princess leaves Passau at about 5.30 p.m.
DAY 4
We reach our next destination, Regensburg, at 9.00 a.m. This city captivates all its visitors with its mass of about 1,400 historical buildings, forming one of the best preserved medieval cities in the whole of Germany. The most important of Regensburg’s sights can be seen in the course of a guided tour on foot. The Amadeus Princess leaves the city at 6.00 p.m., soon after its marvellous evening illuminations have lit it all up, and the cruise is continued on the Main/Danube canal heading for Nuremberg.
DAY 5
Enjoy a substantial breakfast and spend an agreeable morning on board before the Amadeus Princess ties up in Nuremberg at around 1 p.m. Nuremberg is a city with a long history and the sightseeing tour in the afternoon provides an opportunity to obtain an impression of the city’s cultural and historical importance.
On the final evening of your trip the captain of the Amadeus Princess invites you to his special dinner and the ship’s orchestra, which has entertained you in the bar throughout the whole Danube cruise, will not fail to inspire most passengers to round off their cruise on the dance floor.
DAY 6
Disembarkation in Nuremberg after breakfast, by 9.00 a.m.
End of the cruise.
